Genius Hour 1.3

This blog post is very late. I completely forgot about my Genius Hour this week, so as a result I haven't furthered my project since the last post. I need to try and make time to sit down and draw. My biggest enemy so far is definitely trying to find the motivation to sit down and do it, and also trying to remember that I have to do it. 

I think what I'm going to start doing is for a half hour every night I am just going to sit down and draw or do research on drawing. Basically, that half hour will be designated to just furthering my Genius Hour. 

Genius Hour 1.2

I needed to focus on shading. Shading is an important part of drawing, because it can add texture and dimension to a piece of art. I looked at a few different videos and had my friend help me to try and hone the ability of shading. I tried for a few days to get it down, but I suck. I went into this idea of learning how to draw knowing that it would be hard, but I don't think I fully understood just how hard it is going to be for me. I think what I'm going to try and focus on in the upcoming week is still trying to hone the shading, just so my drawing have texture to them, and I'm going to start drawing full pieces -- just to see overall what I'm doing wrong. I need to be able to see the end result and what I can do to make the end result better, instead of focusing on tiny aspects.

Genius Hour 1.1

So, this week I needed to get the first drawing done, the drawing without any knowledge about drawing. This drawing is terrible, which just proves that I need to work on a lot of things. One thing that I want to learn by the end of this project is how to properly color, blend color, and just overall make the texture of whatever I'm drawing with the colors that I'm using. The thing that I struggled with the most with this first drawing was definitely how to draw a tree that was proportioned right with the mountains in the back, so that is going to be the first thing that I learn -- how to proportion my drawings.

This is the first drawing that I did. i did this without any help, and as you can see, it looks bad.
